No one wants to have to watch their pet go into surgery. It’s emotionally difficult and a tough decision to make. At Sunshine Animal Hospital, we understand this and want to help you with making the best decision for your pets. We hope that this brief article will help to enable you to make the best decision for you and your furry loved one. We serve the communities of Superior, Broomfield, and Louisville, CO.
Before Surgery
Before surgery, we will conduct an in-house lab panel to make sure that there are no potential complications with anesthesia. If the results show no issues with anesthesia, we will perform the surgery as planned. However, if complications are detected, our staff will discuss what options are available.
The Day Of
The day of your pet’s surgery can be very emotional and scary. Our team has the skills and experience required to successfully and safely complete the medical procedure required for your pet. During surgery, we continuously monitor for signs of distress by utilizing a pulse oximeter, EKG, and monitor blood pressure readings. For additional support, we run continuous IV fluids and provide heart support to keep your pet’s body temperature at a normal, healthy level.
