Sunshine Animal Hospital will formally return to in-person office visits for appointments with our veterinarians, but will continue to use curbside appointments with our veterinary technicians. This decision was made to maximize the quality of care and communication with our clients, minimize the number of staff in the reception/waiting area at one time, and balance the health and safety of our staff. It is important that we do everything we can to help keep our clients as well as our staff safe and healthy while continuing to deliver top quality service.
In accordance with the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention updated recommendations including vaccinated individuals and impacts of the Delta covid variant, masks are required inside the Sunshine Animal Hospital facility. Alternatively, we are happy to revert to curbside care for your appointment with our veterinarians if you would prefer to not enter our building or not wear a mask. Please let us know when scheduling or when you arrive if you would like the appointment to follow the curbside procedure.
For appointments with our veterinarians:
When you arrive at our hospital, please call us to let us know you have arrived. When an open exam room is available, we will notify you when to come into the facility (usually exam room availability is immediate upon your arrival). All parties entering the facility should wear a mask that conforms to CDC guidelines.
For appointments with a technician/nurse – Curbside Care:
When you arrive at our hospital please park as close to our building as you can (ideally right in front of the practice) and then call us to let us know you have arrived. One of our nurses will come out to your vehicle and discuss the treatment plan and get your pet from you for their treatment. Please have cats in a secure carrier and have dogs wearing a securely fitted collar. A non-slip leash will also be placed on your dog as a backup in case they try to slip out of their collar. After treatment, we will bring your pet back to you and collect payment.
For Curbside appointments with our veterinarians (by request):
When you arrive at our hospital please park as close to our building as you can (ideally right in front of the practice) and then call us to let us know you have arrived. The scheduled veterinarian will call on your cell phone to discuss any concerns you may have with your pet at that time and to get pertinent information on your pet, as well as discuss the treatment plan for the day.
After the history questions and concerns have been discussed, one of our nurses will come to your vehicle to get your pet from you in order to bring them inside for their exam and treatment. Please have cats in a secure carrier and have dogs wearing a securely fitted collar. A non-slip leash will also be placed on your dog as a back up in case they try to slip out of their collar. During this brief interaction time, we will practice social distancing as much as possible and request the same from you.
If your pet is sick then another follow up call may be necessary to discuss the results of your pet’s exam and to discuss diagnostics and treatment. Following treatment your pet will be brought back to you and we will collect payment.
